Special “30
Days to Health” Program Offered in March at the Troy Community Center
(TROY, MI) – The Troy Parks and Recreation
department is offering a “30 Days to
Health” program during the month of March designed to promote healthy
lifestyle choices for family members of all ages. A wide range of activities and informative
sessions are offered throughout the month for everyone who registers to
participate in the program.
“Experts say it takes 21 days to break
a bad habit and form a new one,” Fitness Coordinator John Hug said. “This program can help you break those bad
habits and reach your health and fitness goals.”
All programs and classes are held at
the Troy Community Center. Registration
to participate is required. The fee is
$11 per person for residents and $13 for non-residents.
A detailed program calendar is
available at www.troymi.gov. Highlights of what participants can take
advantage of are:
- “Fitness Room Orientations” with a Personal Trainer to help
take the guess-work out of starting a new fitness program are offered on
March 9 and March 30 at 7 pm.
- The
“Try It!” program to provide
opportunities at various days and times to check out some of the most
popular fitness classes at no cost to 30 Days to Health participants. Classes include Cardio Interval, Power
Sculpt, The Core, Group Cycle and Cycle & Sculpt.
- “Outdoor Clinics” presented by experts from REI,
focused on hiking experiences – including travel information about
Michigan’s trails as well as the the Black Hills
and Badlands of South Dakota – and tips for making this hobby part of your
life experience.
- A
special “Health Series”
presented by Dr. Justin Berlin and Dr. Christopher Passalacqua
targeting three key areas: diet,
exercise and stress.
- The
“ABC’s of Nutrition” with Dawn Danhausen from Whole Foods Market on March 15 from 7-8
pm.
