Shake, Rattle and Roll at the Troy Museum
(TROY,
MI) – Break out the
leather jackets and poodle skirts! The Troy Museum is hosting a 1950s picnic
for families on Tuesday, August 5 from
11 am – 2 pm. All ages are welcome to this event that will feature cool oldies
tunes and plenty of games for kids to enjoy. Play with Hoola
Hoops or participate in a cupcake walk after you enjoy various refreshments
that will be available for purchase. Or, families can pack their own picnic
lunch to eat during all of the entertainment.
“What
a perfect opportunity for parents and children to bridge the gaps between their
generations,” said Museum Director Loraine Campbell. “Both young and old can
flash back to the fifties and relive the era that brought us rock ‘n’ roll,
fast cars, and sock hops.”
The
fee for this event is $3 per person or $10 per family. Prizes will be given for
the best dressed ’50s outfit! So dress your best and bring a camera! Groups of
10+ must register for the event. Fee is payable at the door.
The
Troy Museum is located at 60 West Wattles Road on the northwest corner of
Wattles and Livernois. This event will
be held rain or shine. For more information, call 248.524.3570.
