 Library Offers Array of Educational and Fun Kids Programs

 

 

(TROY, MI) – Kids of all ages can find something fun to do at the Troy Public Library this month!  From exploring technology to reading to a therapy dog, the Library offers lots of unique and entertaining activities for our City’s young readers. Thanks to The Friends of Troy Public Library the programs are free, but some require registration. 

 

Come explore these scheduled activities:

 

April 1: Read to a Therapy Dog, Library, 4 pm.  Read to Galieth and his owner Terese Lee promises he will listen as you tell him a story.  The child must be able to read.  Register. Free.

 

April 2: International Story Time, Library, 7 pm.  Anna Maria Tet will have you on your feet as she creates a Romanian story time.  All are welcome.  No registration needed. Free.

 

April 3: Technology Club, Library, 4:15-5:30 pm.  Share educational fun on the Internet.  Register.  Ages 9+  Free.

 

April 4: Easter Egg Painting, Library, 1-3 pm.  Come paint eggs with intricate designs using a stylus and colored dye.  Register.  Ages 8-14. Free.

 

April 8: Spring Break Video Games, Library, 7 pm.  Rock out with Rock Band and highlight your video game skills during vacation time.  Bring your own controller and DS.  Register.  Ages 8-12.  Free.

 

April 9: Video Game Day, Library, 1:30-3 pm.  Excitement for all gamers with GameCube and other video titles.  Bring you own controller and DS and play and hang out.   Register.  Ages 9-12.  Free.

 

April 9: Evening Family Story Time, Library, 7 pm.  April showers bring May flowers, so we will celebrate with weather stories and share milk and cookies with your children.  No registration.  All ages.  Free.

 

April 14: Playtime at the Library, 10:15 am-noon.  Come and chat with other parents while the children make a craft and play.  No registration.  All ages.  Free.

 

April 15: Read to a Therapy Dog, Library, 4 pm.  Read to Galieth and his owner Terese Lee promises he will listen as you tell him a story.  The child must be able to read.  Register. Free.

 

April 18: One Giant, Two Hairy Blobs, and Three Fat Pigs!, Library, 4 pm.  Kim Washington and her Lolla Palooza Puppets will perform three folk tales.  Tickets available beginning April 3.  All ages. Free.

 

April 24: Technology Club, Library, 4:15-5:30 pm.  Share educational fun on the Internet.  Registration begins April 9.  Ages 9+.  Free.

 

April 25: Library Babies, Library, 11:30 am.  You and your 6 to 12 month old will have a blast with lively activities, fingerplays and singing stories.  Register beginning on April 9.  Free.

 

April 25: Twilight Scavenger Hunt, Library, 2 pm.  Have you read the book or seen the movie?  Edward and his family are watching – waiting – Twilight Scavenger Hunt.  Register by April 15.  Resident Teams: $99, Non-resident teams $104.
