Check Out Great Kids Programs in April at the Troy Public Library

 

 

(TROY, MI) – The Troy Public Library has plenty of fun activities for kids this April.  Programs are free, sponsored by The Friends of Troy Public Library.  Some require registration.

 

The Troy Public Library is located at 510 W. Big Beaver Rd.  For more information or to register for programs, call 248.524.3541, or see www.troylibrary.info.  These are the scheduled activities for April:

 

Family Reading Time:  Thursday, April 1 at 7 pm

Reading is essential for success in school.  Bring the family and we will read a book together.  The family will keep the book to continue the fun at home.  Registration required.  Limited space.  All ages.

 

Read to Andy the Therapy Dog:  Thursday, April 8 at 4 pm

Read to Andy the Therapy dog, who promises to listen as he is told a story. Jane Alkon, author of a book called My Boy, will make Andy available to children who are able to read.  Registration required.  Ages 5+

 

Video Game Day:  Saturday, April 10 at 2 pm

Enjoy video games and tournaments for GameCube, Wii, PS2 and Xbox 360.  Pizza will be provided.   Registration required.  Ages 8-12

 

Playtime at the Library: Wednesday, April 14 at 10:15 am-Noon

Come and chat with other parents while the children make a craft and play.  No registration required.  All ages.

 

Evening Family Story Time: Thursday, April 15 at 7 pm 

Silly stories and fun songs make this story time rock!  Stay for cookies and milk.  No registration required. All ages welcome.

 

Light Bulb Lab: Friday, April 16 at 10:45 am or 11:45 am

Join the Library Light Bulb Lab! The lab meets once a month to conduct amazing fun science experiments.  Registration begins April 1.  Limited space.  Ages 3-5

 

Technology Club: Friday, April 16 at 4:15 pm

Share educational fun on the Internet.  Registration begins on April 1.  Limited space.  Ages 9+

 

Art Workshop: Saturday, April 17 at 2 pm

Can you craft a smiling sunflower with our material?  Use seeds, paper and pipe cleaners to create unique flowers.  Registration begins April 1.  Ages 3+

Grossology: Saturday, April 24 at 2 pm

Ever wonder how to make slime, snot on a stick or wounds that are realistic?  Show up and be amazed at the gross things in nature and in you!  Registration begins April 9.  Ages 8+
