(TROY, MI) – Attention teens, the
Troy Public Library has great programs for you in August! These events are
designed specifically with teens, between the ages of 13-17, in mind.
Activities include:
August 2: Teen and Kid Craft Sale, Library, 1-3 pm. Visit
the library for a chance to purchase special crafts created by Troy children
and teens. No registration. FREE.
August 11: Teen Summer Reading Party, Library, 7-8:30 pm. Enjoy
the rewards of your reading! Come and enjoy our DDR, Guitar Hero and other
games while the Grand Prize Drawing takes place. You must have earned tickets
during the Summer Reading Program to be eligible for prizes. Ages: 13-17. No
Registration. FREE.
August 13: Rock 'n' Roll Concert, Library, 7 pm. Hailed
by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the best new, young rock and roll bands in
America, The High Strung will be
jamming in celebration of the Summer Reading Program finale. Come listen to
this terrific upbeat trio of performers play a full set of their rousing
Beatlesque songs on the Library lawn. All Ages. For Summer
Reading Program Participants. FREE.
August 19: Improvise & Metamorphosize Theater, Library, 1-2:30 pm. Improv
and theater games kick off this interactive program. Students work to
“metamorphosize” stories into skits utilizing improvisation, performance and
storytelling skills. Ages: 13-17. No registration. FREE.
