(TROY,
MI) – Opening Day at Comerica Park brings out that
“inner Granderson” in aspiring players and the Troy
Parks & Recreation Department has just the event to help them dust off
their bats and gloves and get up off the bench.
Players ages 5-15 can
participate in the annual Baseball Clinic that takes place Thursday, May 7 from 6-7:30 pm at the Troy High Baseball Field.
The clinic coordinators are
Troy High Varsity Coach Frank DiVito and the Troy
High Varsity Baseball players. Registration
is required. The fee is $25. Players will be grouped by age and rotated
through different skills stations.
Fundamentals of throwing,
catching, fielding, pitching, bunting and hitting will be emphasized. Conditioning and baserunning
drills will also be covered. Gym shoes
and a baseball glove are required; a bat is optional.
In the event of inclement
weather, the make-up date is May 14.
