Nature Center Offers New Canoe School
(TROY,
MI) – Come join naturalists from the Lloyd A. Stage Nature
Center for a rare opportunity to canoe in Troy at Sylvan Glen Lake Park on Saturday, July 25. This all-new Canoe School program includes instruction from Heavner
Canoe’s qualified staff. Four separate
classes are offered, two from 9-11 am
and two from 1-3 pm.
One
canoe will fit up to two adults and two children. Anyone under the age of 18 must be
accompanied by an adult and waivers must be filled out prior to using a canoe.
“You
will use your new paddling skills to travel through various aqua-habitats on
Sylvan Glen Lake,” Nature Center Manager Stacy Yankee said. “A professional naturalist from the Nature
Center will accompany participants and point out cool things to notice along
the way.”
Fees
are $10 for residents or $12 for non-residents, ages 5-11, and $20 for
residents or $22 for non-residents, ages
12-adult. The program cost includes a $5
off coupon for Heavener Canoe, redeemable on a future canoe ride at their
Milford location on the Huron River.
The Nature Center
is located at 6685 Coolidge Highway in Troy.
