(TROY,
MI) – The Troy Public
Library announces its 10th annual collaboration with the musicians
of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Ensembles on Sunday,
February
14 at 3 pm.
The
Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Ensembles are reflective of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra’s commitment to developing the next generation of musicians
and music supporters. The Civic Youth
Ensembles have established themselves as Michigan’s most comprehensive
pre-professional training program for orchestra, chamber, wind and jazz
musicians, and as a model for similar programs throughout the nation.
“These
talented young performers provide one of the highlights of the Troy Public
Library concert season,” Library Director Cathy Russ said. “Come and enjoy an afternoon
of great music provided by a variety of award-winning chamber music groups
ranging from string quartets to piano trios and woodwind ensembles.”
The
concert is free of charge and there is no registration; there is open seating
to the room’s capacity. For more
information, call Barb Schaich at 248.524.3568.
The Troy Public Library is located at 510 W. Big Beaver Rd.
