City of Troy Announces Finalist Candidates for City Manager Position

 

(Troy, MI)The Troy City Council announced the finalist candidates for the position of Troy City Manager.  Five finalists were chosen from approximately 43 candidate applications for the position.   The finalists are (in alphabetical order):

 

Pamela Weaver Antil, Michigan

Steven S. Ault, Michigan

Jane Bais-DiSessa, Michigan

John M. Gabor, Michigan

James C. Payne, New Mexico

 

Andrea Sims, Senior Consultant at Waters-Oldani Executive Recruitment noted, “There was an excellent candidate pool, with significant interest from across the country as well as within the State of Michigan.  The City of Troy should be proud of its reputation for providing a high quality of life as well as excellent government services.”

 

Advanced copies of the resumes for each of the candidates will be available on the City’s website.  Hard copies will be available at the City Clerk’s office.

 

City Council will be conducting interviews of the candidates on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, starting at 9 am in the City Council Boardroom, 500 W. Big Beaver Road.  The schedule of interviews, each lasting one hour and fifteen minutes, will occur as follows: 

 

9 am:  James C. Payne

10:30 am: Pamela Weaver Antil

12:30 pm: John M. Gabor

2 pm: Jane Bais DiSessa

3:30 pm: Steven S. Ault

 

Members of the public are invited to these interviews, but will not be provided with an opportunity to formally question the candidates.  There will be a limited public comment portion of the meeting after the interviews have concluded. 

 

Members of the public are also encouraged to attend the Special Troy City Council Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2009, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in Room 304 at the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois.   At that meeting, each of the candidates will give a 15 minute introduction/presentation to the audience.  Although the candidates will not be fielding questions, there will be a limited opportunity for public comment at the end of the meeting, as well as an opportunity to provide written feedback to the Troy City Council.

 

City Council has scheduled a Special Meeting for Thursday, July 9, 2009, starting at

7 pm in the City Council Boardroom, Troy City Hall, 500 W. Big Beaver Rd., to deliberate on the selection of the new Troy City Manager.  There will be a limited opportunity for public comment at the beginning of this meeting.  City Council expects to make their decision at this meeting, with the expectation that the new Troy City Manager will have a start date on or before July 28, 2009.
