(TROY, MI) – Troy area
seniors 50 and older are invited to sell their arts and crafts at the Creative
Endeavors Gift Shop at the Troy Community Center.
“The shop has been open for five years, and sales
totaled over $35,000 last year,” Carla Vaughan, director of senior programs,
said. “We have over 100 vendors, and
offer a wide variety of handmade merchandise.”
The shop is open approximately 32 hours per week
including Saturdays and some evenings.
The
City of Troy provides display space, media promotion, tags for merchandise,
bags, and pays the 6 percent Michigan sales tax. For this service, the City retains a 25
percent commission on all items sold.
Vendors
may bring a sample of their work to the Troy Community Center and will then be
contacted by the store committee. For
