FOR RELEASE: March
24, 2009
(TROY, MI) – These economic
times call for creative thinking and the Library has a great idea to help curb
expenses for this year’s prom. Find that
perfect prom dress by swapping one from your closet during the Troy Public
Library’s Prom Dress Exchange on Saturday,
April 25 from noon-4 pm. No
registration required.
The library will begin collecting dresses for the
exchange on Saturday, April 18.
“Buying formal attire for each and every special occasion
in a young girl’s life can be so expensive,” Library Director Cathy Russ said.
“This exchange offers an opportunity for girls to swap beautiful dresses with
one another without paying another dollar for a dress.”
Obviously, dress donations are needed to ensure this
event is a success, Russ said. Dresses must be no more than five years old, in
like-new condition, on a hanger and preferably in a cleaning bag. Residents
without a dress to exchange should feel free to come and take a look.
The Troy Public Library is
located at 510 West Big Beaver Road. For
more information, call 248.619.7652.
