(TROY,
MI) – The Troy
Community Center is offering five free workshops to help Troy residents prepare
for the future as the economy changes. Brought
to you by the Community Affairs, Library and Parks and Recreation Departments, “Embracing
a Changing Economy” workshops will focus on topics that concern each and every
resident.
The
workshops will be held at the Community Center from 7-9 pm in Room 305 and will
cover the following:
Wednesday,
September 24 – Protecting Your American Dream
Wednesday,
October 1 – Selling Your House
Wednesday,
October 8 – Buying a House
Wednesday,
October 29 – Transition from Analog to Digital TV
Wednesday,
November 12 – How to Stretch a Dollar and What Affects Your Credit Score
The first
workshop on Wednesday, September, 24 from 7-9 pm, deals with economic
uncertainty and ways to protect the American Dream you worked so hard attaining.
Speakers from Green Path Debt Solutions
will cover money management, realistic budgeting, credit,
debt, and foreclosure issues. Additional
topics concerning the basics of foreclosure, the foreclosure timeline, what to
expect and what to do if you are in risk of foreclosure will be discussed by
speakers from Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, Lighthouse and Oakland
County Housing Counseling.
A question
and answer session will be available at each seminar. Each speaker is qualified within their field
and will not solicit attendees. For more
