(TROY,
MI) – The Troy Museum
and Historic Village is adding sweetener to its annual Fall Farm Festival,
presenting a fun-filled “Troy Sweet Troy” afternoon Saturday, September 26 from 1-4 pm.
“Celebrate
the sweet life at our annual Fall Farm Festival, “Museum Manager Loraine
Campbell said. “We are planning a great afternoon
designed to help attendees experience the many ways Troy’s residents sweetened
their palates. Come sample honey,
molasses, Michigan sugar, maple syrup, caramel apples and learn about bees and
sugar beets.”
The day
will include candy games, taffy pulling, the “candypult,”
square dancing, pony rides (for $4) and crafts.
Doughnuts, cider and a variety of sweets – including Sander’s ice cream
and Morley’s chocolate -- will be available for purchase. Taffy pulling will be at 1:15 pm, 2 pm and
2:45 pm. Free Square Dancing lessons
will also be offered.
“Be sure to
visit the historic dentistry exhibit including items on loan from the
University of Detroit Mercy’s Dental School.” Campbell said.
