– Meet your local volunteer firefighters at the Troy Fire Department Open Houses
on Sunday, October 4 from 1- 4 pm.
These dedicated individuals train extensively to provide Troy with
emergency fire protection and rescue services.
The department will host open houses at all six fire stations.
“Our Fire Open Houses teach fire safety
in a fun, relaxed way,” said Fire Chief Bill Nelson. “It’s also a chance to meet our amazing
volunteer firefighters and see first hand the pride they take in the work they
do.”
There will be several activities and
demonstrations to educate and entertain all who attend. Visitors can enjoy “stop, drop and roll”
demonstrations, ladder truck rides (Station 1,2,3), handling fire hoses, vehicle
extrication, fire extinguisher training and stove top
fire demonstrations. Refreshments
and drawings for prizes at each Fire Station.
