(TROY,
MI) –The Oakland
County Health Division is offering seasonal flu shots at the Troy Community
Center on Friday, October 29, from 10 am - 3 pm. There will not be a separate H1N1 vaccine this
year.
The Troy Community Center is located at
3179 Livernois. The Oakland County Health Division recommends
flu shots for people 65 and older, for people younger than 65 with medical
problems such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, etc. and for people who
live or work with high-risk individuals.
All
ages are welcome to get their flu shot. People
receiving a flu shot with Medicare/Medicaid need to bring their card and a
picture ID, so that Medicare/Medicaid can be billed. Those without Medicare/Medicaid, and who are
able to pay, will be charged an $11 fee for the shot.
No
appointment is required for a flu shot, but you can pre-register at www.oakgov.com/health. Lines will be
shorter for those who pre-register.
