(TROY, MI) – Explore the roots of your family
history with three events at the Troy Public Library that revolve around the
study of genealogy, including a free drop-in Genealogy Open House – perfect for
beginners.

include:
Tuesday, June 17, from 7-8:30 pm: Introduction
to Genealogy Databases - Learn
how to use the library’s online genealogy resources to research your family
tree. Librarian Diana Franco will give an introduction to Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest and New England Ancestors.
Thursday, June 19, from 7-8:30 pm: Family Tree Maker - Learn how to enter your family tree
information in Family Tree Maker, prepare reports and pedigree charts, create a
family tree with photographs, as well as design different styles of family
trees, and more. Family Tree Maker 16 will be used for the demonstration.
Saturday, June 21, from 10 am - 2 pm: Genealogy Workshop Open House - Genealogists of all skill levels
can meet with knowledgeable researchers from Piety Hill Chapter National
Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Whether you don’t know where to
start, are just getting started or you are accomplished but have hit a
stumbling block, this free open house will be useful. Bring your charts, worksheets,
family histories and documents to this free workshop. Although registration is
not required, it is strongly encouraged to help plan for materials and
