New Ideas for a Healthier You

 

(TROY, MI) The Troy Community Center is offering a new series called “New Ideas for a Healthier You.” Learn the food facts you need to know to make better food choices and live a healthier lifestyle in this five-part series. You may attend the entire series for $75 or individual classes for $20 each.  A healthy snack will be provided.

 

“Learn the difference between organic and natural,” John Hug, Fitness Coordinator said, “Plus how to get healthy by the food choices you make.”

 

The series meets on September 22, October 6 and 20, and November 3 and 17 from 7-8:30 pm at the Community Center (3179 Livernois).  Call 248.524.3484 for details.

Carbohydrate Confusion: Learn the role of carbs in human nutrition and the difference between refined and whole grains.

Fat Phobia:  Facts about fat you are not likely to read in a magazine.  Understanding the Omega-3 to Omega-6 ratio.

 

November 3

Magnificent Micronutrients:  Learn what role vitamins and minerals play in a healthy body.

 

November 17

Antioxidants, Enzymes and Probiotics:  Often forgotten components to health and food, learn why you want to incorporate these elements in your diet.
