(Troy) - William Cowger of Acacia Photography in Troy,
Michigan, is proud to announce a visual adventure of wildlife
photography that will run from January 2nd
- January 31, 2010 at the Troy
Public Library, 510 W. Big Beaver in Troy. The 'Anything But Cats' exhibit is sure
to whet the appetite of the most savvy wildlife,
travel & photography enthusiast.
Whether attending this exhibit due to interest in the world-renowned Serengeti
photo safaris and workshops Mr. Cowger conducts each year in the Serengeti in
Tanzania, or to experience the next best choice -- immersing yourself in your
own world of exclusive photographs of the daily struggle for survival
of the fittest -- you are in for a rewarding experience. The beautiful animals
that inhabit this healthiest eco-system in the world will be featured
for your viewing pleasure.
'Anything But Cats' features the unheralded mammals and
amazing bird life of the Serengeti ecosystem. Since the cats of Africa get
more press and attention than all the rest of the animals combined, a show
highlighting the myriad of wild animals without whom
the cats could not survive, seems overdue. The show
includes 'survival of the fittest' challenges for antelope,
elephants, giraffes, and zebras in addition to may beautiful wildlife
portraits.
Consider this exhibit an extended holiday gift for
the eyes from Mr. Cowger to you and your family! Get the feel of
the adventure of a lifetime - maybe to the point of deciding to actually
go on safari and experience firsthand Mr. Cowger’s
thrilling photo safaris and workshops (held several times each
year). Be sure to ask for details or view them for yourself at Mr. Cowger’s website: www.ThePhotoSafari.com
The Meet the Artist
Reception takes place Sunday,
January 17th, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Troy Public
Library. During this event, Mr. Cowger will present a continuous running
slideshow and will be on hand to answer any and all questions you many have
regarding his African trip of a lifetime.
All month long, donations and school supplies will be
thankfully accepted to assist children in need in the town of Usa River, Tanzania. Mr. Cowger, as well as many travelers who have
been on his safaris, have raised enough money to support and refurbish an
entire elementary school in Africa. They have shipped1600 lbs. of school
supplies thus far for their worthy cause. This aid program is being
administered by the Troy Rotary Foundation. Mr. Cowger is a member of the Professional
Photographers of America and Professional Photographers of Michigan, as well as
a long standing member of The Troy and Birmingham/Bloomfield Chambers of
Commerce.
