(TROY, MI) – Beat the winter blahs and check out how the City of
Troy is much like the dazzling array of colors of a kaleidoscope on Sunday,
January 25. From noon - 4 pm, the City of Troy will host their annual Community
Kaleidoscope event that will feature a community expo that highlights the
various organizations that keep our community diverse. Also, families will be
able to enjoy open swimming, games, crafts, stage entertainment and more at the
Troy Community Center! There is no
admission fee for the event.
“Our vast variety of
community groups is what helps make the City of Troy such a diverse and
wonderful place to live,” City of Troy Community Affairs Director Cindy Stewart
said. “This event allows us to spotlight
these groups, along with Troy’s facilities, programs and services.”
Many engaging activities are planned for the entire family, including live entertainment, indoor sports and swimming, music by DJ David B, free fitness classes and a community resource expo. Food will also be available at a nominal charge.
“There are a variety of activities to check
out,” Stewart said. “Take a swim in the
Community Center’s indoor pool with waterslides. Play basketball in the state-of-the-art
gym. Check out the free group fitness
classes in Cycle & Sculpt (12-1 pm) and Power Sculpt (1-2 pm). Go bowling (compliments of Troy Lanes and
Bowl One) and enjoy other activities such as face painting, storytelling, Legos®, Mancala, Bingo and games. See special demonstrations by the Troy
Museum. Don't miss the Smith Middle
School Cheer Program at 1:30 pm and the Police K-9s at 2 pm.
