Troy Parks & Recreation Offers Two LEGO Programs

 

(TROY, MI)LEGO - Wild & Wacky Wheels is a four week class for 1st - 3rd graders on Saturdays from January 15 – February 12 (or March 5-26) from 9-11am at the Troy Community Center.  Build and modify different vehicles including everyday vehicles, concept cars, and construction machines using unique LEGO kits.  This fun approach to engineering principles has participants learning about friction, forces, motion and aerodynamics.  Students start developing problem solving and communication skills!  All materials included.  Students take home knowledge, not lego vehicles.

Fee: $75 resident, $85 non-resident.          

 

LEGO - Collision Cars is a four week class for 4th-8th graders on Saturdays from January 15 – February 12 (or March 5-26) from 9-11am at the Troy Community Center.   Will your car be the last car standing?  Using unique LEGO kits to build a variety of battling machines, you will see who can build the strongest.  This hands-on class will help develop problem solving and risk taking abilities.  Explore how machines work by experimenting with gearing and gear ratios, electric motors and energy, friction, forces, motion and aerodynamics.  A great jump start into engineering!  All materials included.  Students take home knowledge, not lego vehicles.  Fee: $75 resident, $85 non-resident.
