Special Display Arrives from Missouri
Birthday Tea Party Slated for Saturday, February 6
(TROY,
MI) – The Troy Museum
and Historic Village is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the
publication of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie with a
special display during the month of
February, including a special Birthday
Tea Party on February 6.
The
display comes to the Troy Museum direct from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic
Home and Museum located in Mansfield, Missouri.
This is the home of “Rocky Ridge Farm” where Laura and Almanzo lived out their married lives and where she wrote
the famous Little House books. The
display, “Laura Ingalls Wilder – The Journey of a Pioneer Family,” provides a
wonderful opportunity to explore the life of a
America’s est-known pioneer girl.
This
traveling display contains photographs and information relating to Laura
Ingalls Wilder, her famous “Little House” books and America’s westward
expansion. The accessible exhibit will
be in the Pioneer Room of the main museum building. Stop by the Museum and check it out. The
Museum is open Monday-Saturday, 9 am-4:30 pm.
Admission fees are $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-12, and free
for children under the age of 6.
A
special Laura Ingalls Wilder Birthday
Tea Party is scheduled for Saturday,
February 6 from 10:30 am-noon to celebrate her birthday (February 7,
1867). Come dressed in a period costume
or your Sunday best. Tea, finger foods,
and activities just like Laura would have done will be part of the fun. A special take-home memento of the occasion
is included.
The
Birthday Tea Party is for ages 6-12.
Registration is required. The fee
is $15 per child. The Museum is located
