Nature Center Offers “Little Acorns” Program for Young Nature Lovers

(TROY, MI) – Young nature lovers are invited to join the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center for a day of natural excitement.  Explore the sights, smells and sounds of autumn with a young child during the Center’s “Little Acorns” program on Thursday, October 15, from 10-11 am (1-3 year-olds) or 1-2 pm (3-4 year olds).  An additional program is available on Friday, October 16 from 10-11 am for 1-3 year olds.

“Children will experience nature with their senses during our interactive, hands-on hike tailored for our youngest visitors,” Nature Center Manger Stacy Yankee said.

This program will take place completely outside, except in the event of extreme inclement weather.  Bring children in backpacks, strollers with large wheels (sturdy enough for a wood chipped trail) or sleds for snow.  This program is designed for children between the ages of 1-4 and their adult parent/caregiver.  The adult partner is free and must accompany the child throughout the program.

Registration is required.  The fee is $4 for residents and $6 for non-residents.

The Nature Center is located at 6685 Coolidge Highway in Troy.  To register, or for more information, call 248.524.3567.
