Troy Community Center Offers Chance to Learn How to Perform Real Magic

(TROY, MI) – Here’s the chance to witness and learn how to perform professional magic tricks at a special class at the Troy Community Center on Thursday, February 25 from 7 - 9:30 pm.

The course tutor is Keith Fields, a professional magician from the United Kingdom who has worked in Las Vegas, New York, London and most of the world.  He has written three books on the art of magic and performance (one of which was translated into four languages), produced one of the first teaching magic CD-ROMs, been asked to perform and lecture in front of his peers at magic conventions around the world (he also invents new magic and illusions), and won the title of 'Close up Magician of the Year' from the world famous Magic Circle.

“These are not just silly party tricks, but the real deal,” Recreation Supervisor Barb Rupas said.  “Class participants will learn some professional magic routines they can perform to amaze their friends.”

The class is for aspiring magician ages 14 and older.  Registration is required.  The fee is $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents.  There is also a $25 material fee for a workbook, DVD and props payable to the instructor at the class.

The Troy Community Center is located at 3179 Livernois.  For more information, call 248.524.3484 or see www.troymi.gov/ParksRec for information about this and the many other activities offered through the Troy Parks and Recreation Department.
