The calendar for March 8-14, the second week for the “30 Days to Health” program, includes:

March 9: Magic of Whole Grains from 7-8 p.m. Join Whole Foods Market in Troy as we present a crash course on high protein grains.  We’ll be exploring cooking techniques, tips and more; focusing on whole grains that are lower in carbohydrates, high in fiber and rich in nutrients.  Taste, learn and enjoy what makes these grains so amazing; bring your appetite and an open mind! Additional registration required.

March 11: The Core at 10 a.m. A strong core is critical to better posture and injury prevention.  Improve total body strength, core muscular endurance, balance, joint stability and flexibility while focusing on your “core” muscles, specifically abdominals and lower back.  This class is 30 minutes of focused isolated resistance and will complement your regular cardiovascular routine. Additional registration required.

March 12: Relay for Life Kick Off at 6 p.m. Join the American Cancer Society and find information about their popular Relay for Life fundraiser.

March 13: Free-For-All Fridays from 5:30 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Free daily pass for 30 Days to Health program participants.  Check-in at Control Desk.

March 14: Diet Health Series from 2-4 p.m. in Room 303. Presented by Drs. Justin Berlin and Christopher Passalacqua. Cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and high cholesterol can all be greatly reduced with a proper diet.  They will teach you how to eat the ideal diet and also give easy and affordable ways to put this diet into practice.  Also discussed will be how to lose fat and keep it off and just why all those fad diets aren’t working. Additional registration required.
