 Library Offers Array of Educational and Fun Kids Programs

 

(TROY, MI) – Kids of all ages can find something fun to do at the Troy Public Library this month! From a holiday celebration to reading to a therapy dog, the Library offers lots of unique and entertaining activities for our City’s young readers. Programs are free, thanks to The Friends of Troy Public Library, but may require registration. 

 

Come explore these scheduled activities:

 

March 12:  Book Report Writing, 7 pm.  Learn the proper steps to writing winning book reports. Register. Grades 4+  Free.

 

March 13: Technology Club, 4:15-5:30 pm. Share educational fun on the Internet.  Register.  Ages 9+.  Free.

 

March 14: Dance for Joy—it’s St. Patrick’s Day, 2 pm. Celebrate this Irish holiday with the performers from the Heinzman School of Irish Dance.  Tickets now available.  All ages.  Free.

 

March 18:  Read to a Therapy Dog, Library 4 pm. Galieth the therapy dog loves to listen while you read him a story. Register. Children must be able to read.  Free.

 

March 19:  Evening Family Story Time, Library 4 pm.  Spring stories will start us thinking about warmer weather, then milk and cookies for everyone.  All ages.  Free.

 

March 20: Libraries and Little Ones, 10:30 am.  Sherry Scruggs from Oakland County Child Care Council shares stories, activities and parental advice.  Each child receives a free book.  Parents and children ages 1-5.  Free.

 

March 21: Dress-Up Story Time, 2 pm.  Enjoy spring stories and pretend to be someone else with our costumes.  Register.  Ages 3+.  Free.

 

March 26:  Playtime at the Library, 1-2:30 pm.  Come and chat with other parents while the children make a craft and play.  All ages.  Free.

 

March 27: Technology Club, 4:15-5:30 pm. Share educational fun on the Internet. Register starting March 13.  Ages 9+.  Free.

 

March 28: Video Game Day, 2 pm. Loads of excitement for all gamers: a GameCube Super Smash tournament plus pizza! You’ll need your own controller & DS. Register starting March 13. Ages 9-12. Free.
