Check Out Great Kids Programs in March at the Troy Public Library
(TROY, MI) – The Troy Public Library has plenty of
fun activities for kids this March. Programs
are free, sponsored by The Friends
of Troy Public Library. Some require
registration.

Dr. Seuss
Story Time: Tuesday, March 2 at 1:30 pm
Celebrate the 106th anniversary of Theodor Geisel’s birth with
his crazy stories, a game and a craft.
Make time for duckfeet! Registration required. Ages 3+
Family
Reading Time: Thursday, March 4 at 7 pm
Reading is essential for success in school. Enjoy a book together with the Library and
after keep the book to continue the fun at home. Registration required. Limited space. All ages
Dress-Up
Story Time: Saturday, March 6 at 2 pm
Spring is a time of new beginnings. Enjoy spring stories, and then
pretend to be someone new with the Library’s costumes. Registration required. Ages 3+
Read to
Andy, the Therapy Dog: Thursday, March
11 at 4 pm
Read to Andy the Therapy dog, who promises to listen as he is told a
story. Jane Alkon, author of a book called My Boy,
will make Andy available to children who are able to read. Registration required. Ages 5+
Light Bulb
Lab: Friday, March 12 at 10:45 am or 11:45 am
Join the Library Light Bulb Lab! The lab meets once a month to conduct
amazing fun science. Registration required. Limited space. Ages 3-5
Library
Babies: Saturday, March 13 at 11:30 am
Parents and their 6 to 12 month old babies will have a blast with lively
activities, finger plays and singing stories.

Art
Workshop: Saturday, March 13 at 2 pm
A silly potato head leprechaun made from a paper bag and construction
paper will keep everyone busy and help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Registration required. Ages 3+
Evening
Family Story Time: Thursday, March 18 at 7 pm
Leprechaun magic and Irish tales will provide entertainment, followed by cookies
and milk. No registration required. All
ages welcome.
Red Robins!: Saturday, March 20 at 2 pm
Come celebrate the first day of spring with stories about robins. Then, create a robin door hanger to take home. Registration required. Ages 3 +
Chess:
Sunday, March 21 at 2-5 pm
Experience friendly competition as Tom Manion
leads students in a chess session.
Register beginning on March 12.

Respect
the Flags: Saturday, March 27 at 2 pm
Allyson Dunn from Consumers Energy will present a safety program to
create "Safety Heroes." Learn the importance of the colored flags
used to mark utility, cable and other underground lines. Registration begins March 12. Ages 8 +
