Hear the Music at the Troy Museum

(TROY, MI) – Whether you’re a musician or simply a music lover, the Museum offers two events in March for you to enjoy the sweet melodies.

Fiddling Workshop - Saturday, March 7, at 1 pm

Bring your violin and enjoy some good ol’ down-home music!  Learn simple fiddle tunes which you will be able to perform by the workshop’s end.  Take-home sheet music included.  Two years of prior violin experience required.  Ages: 9 to adult. Fee: $5. Registration required by March 2.

Metropolitan Detroit Recorder Society – Saturday, March 21, at 2 pm.

Lift your spirits with the beautiful music of the Metropolitan Detroit Recorder Society at their annual public concert. The program includes 15th-17th century pieces along with modern compositions, performed by Society members and guest ensembles. Listen to this historic instrument’s relaxing strains as you hear the recorder the way it was meant to be played!  Donations to the Troy Historical Society’s Heritage Campaign accepted at the door.

The Museum is located at 60 West Wattles Road at the northwest corner of Wattles and Livernois.  For more information, or to register for activities, call 248.524.3570.
