TROY DAZE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2008

MISS TROY AND JUNIOR MISS TROY PAGEANTS

 

Pageants Scheduled for Saturday, August 16

 

 

(TROY, MI) – The Troy Daze Festival Committee announced the date and location of this year’s Miss Troy and Junior Miss Troy Pageants.  They will be held jointly on Saturday, August 16 at 6 pm at Troy High School, 4777 Northfield Pkwy.

 

Applications to participate are available on the City of Troy web site, www.troymi.gov/troydaze.  All applications must be submitted by Tuesday, July 22.  A mandatory entry fee must accompany each application.  Registration fees are scheduled as follows:  “General Registration” is through July 11 at a rate of $50; “Emergency Registration” is from July 12-22 for $100.

 

A mandatory informational meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 22 at 6:30 pm at the Troy Community Center.

 

The winner of the Miss Troy Pageant will receive a $500 scholarship.  Winners selected in the Junior Miss Troy Pageant will receive gift certificates.  According to Miss Troy Executive Director Danielle Cover, tremendous interest is expected again this year.

 

“This is a wonderful traditional pageant for the young ladies and women of Troy,” Cover said.  “Competition areas include interview, casual wear and evening wear.”

 

Miss Troy applicants must be ages 18-25, never been married and without children, and live, work or go to school in Troy.  Miss Troy Teen applicants must be between the ages of 14-17, Young Miss Troy contestants ages 11-13, Pre-teen Miss Troy ages 8-10 and Little Miss Troy ages 5-7.

 

Entrants must either live, work, or go to school in the City of Troy.  For those who do not live in Troy, photocopied documentation must be supplied to prove that they work or attend school in the city.
