Celebrate “A Simple Holiday Cheer” at the Troy Museum & Historic Village

(TROY, MI) – The Troy Museum & Historic Village will celebrate Simple Holiday Cheer Saturday, December 4 from 1-3 pm, welcoming in the holiday season with a fun and festive family celebration.

“This is a special way to usher in this festive season,” Museum Director Loraine Campbell said.  “Thanks to a special operational grant from the Kresge Foundation, we are able to celebrate the holiday old-fashioned style at the Troy Museum.”

Come visit the Museum and Historic Village and discover handmade gifts, rustic traditions, and old-fashioned holiday decorations that people have made and enjoyed even during challenging economic times.  Children can visit with Santa in Old Troy Church and construct holiday crafts.   Everyone will enjoy hot cider and donuts and caroling from Gilda’s Singers. Find those unique gifts in the Museum holiday store.

Marines and Marine veterans will be on hand to collect new, unwrapped and unopened toys for needy children as part of the Toys for Tots program.  The Museum will be accepting toy donations from Nov. 30-Dec. 9.

Parking and free shuttle bus service will be provided from the Zion Christian Church located at 3668 Livernois Road, between Big Beaver and Wattles.  The Museum is located at 60 West Wattles.  Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 6-17, and free for children under age 5.  For more information, call the Museum at 248.524.3570.
