Troy Public Library Introduces New
Video-on-Demand Service
(TROY, MI) – The Troy Public Library has added
two new video-on-demand compilations to their offerings: the Hollywood
Favorites & World Cinema collection and movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment. These collections features award winning
films, classic movies, and modern-day favorites. Among these are Kramer v.
Kramer, On Golden Pond, The Old Man and the Sea, Taxi Driver, Bye Bye Birdie, It Happened One Night, and Jerry Maguire.
These
titles will be added to their existing video-on-demand collection, which
includes classic films, as well as popular PBS shows such as America’s Test Kitchen, Antiques Roadshow,
and Rick Steves’
Europe.
These
videos-on-demand are available to Troy Library cardholders through the MyLibraryDV service. To use MyLibraryDV,
visit the Library Web site, www.libcoop.net/troy, and click on the MyLibraryDV
icon. After installing the MyLibraryDV player,
patrons will have access to all of the Library’s videos-on-demand.
With
MyLibraryDV, up to 10 movies can be checked out at a
time. Each title is checked out for seven days.
And because MyLibraryDV is an Internet
service, there are no overdue fines! At the end of the checkout period, items
are automatically deleted from the computer.
For
more information regarding MyLibraryDV, e-mail John
Robertson, Troy Public Library Technology Department, at j.robertson@troymi.gov or call 248-524-3548.
