Activities at the Troy Nature Center
(TROY,
MI) – In addition to
its special programming offering fun ways to explore the world around us, the
Nature Center offers several activities families are sure to enjoy:
Spring Scavenger Hunt:
Pick up a scavenger hunt form at the front desk of the Nature Center to
add some fun to your hike and return it completed for a prize. This is designed for ages 3-adult. The “hunts” are available during regular
business hours for $2 each. Choose from a forest, wetland/pond, meadow or
general hunt.
Take a Peek at the Pond: Use
one of our nets to looks for animals living in the pond. Register for this
event, which takes place on Tuesday,
July 1 (Activity# 337858A) and July
22 (Activity# 337858B) from 10-11 am.
This event is for ages 3 to adult and costs $3 per person.
What’s Hiding Under That Log:
Hike into the forest in search of logs and the invertebrate animals
living underneath them. Explore using magnifiers and
bug boxes. This event takes place Thursday,
July 31 from 10-11 am and cost $3 per person. Best
for ages 3 to adult. Register with Activity# 337859A.
Critter Crunch – It’s
Feeding Time: Get up-close and personal with the live
reptiles and amphibians at the Nature Center during feeding time! Space is
limited for this event so register quickly with Activity# 337860A. Event will
take place Friday, July 25 from 10-11 am.
The activity is best for those between 5-adult. Fee is $3 per person.
Those
interested in these programs can register in person, online, or at the door (if
space is available). Adults are free with paid child registration and must
remain with child during the program.
The Nature
Center is located at 6685 Coolidge Highway in Troy. Regular business hours are Tuesday-Saturday,
