Troy Public Library Café Opens &
Contest Winner Announced
(TROY, MI) – The
Grand Opening of the Troy Public Library’s new vending café “Cup and Chaucer”
is scheduled for Monday, June 1 at 6:30 pm. Over 190 entries were received in the “Name the Café” contest
and the winner is Alanda Slusser. Mrs. Slusser will
join Mayor Louise Schilling and the Troy City Council for the ribbon cutting
ceremony.
The
sign bearing the name of the café, “Cup and Chaucer” will hang in the library
over the café door, with an acknowledgement to Alanda
Slusser.
The
new café will be an informal gathering/meeting space, with vending machines,
tables and chairs, and some additional easy chairs, where library users can
enjoy refreshments, talk to friends, take a break from studies, and relax! The café walls were painted by students from
the Troy High School art program, who are designing some beautiful pictures for
the walls featuring authors or
characters from books (i.e. Alice in Wonderland, Edgar Allan Poe, etc.).
The
Troy Public Library is located at 510 W. Big Beaver Rd.
