NURSERY
SCHOOL OLYMPICS ARE JULY 22 AT BOULAN PARK
(TROY, MI) – It’s fun. It’s sweet.
And it’s so incredibly cute. It’s
the 2008 Nursery School Olympics to take place on Tuesday, July 22 at 6:30 pm.
Preschoolers, ages 2-5, along with their parents, are invited to
participate.
The games are sponsored by Troy Parks & Recreation
and the Redwood Dental Group. The rain
date is Tuesday, July 29.
“We modified regular sporting events to emphasize tot-size
fun,” Recreation Supervisor Elaine Bo said.
“Kids really love the contests and are sure to have a blast.”
Contests are designed specifically for preschoolers and
their parents. The seven events
include: Marshmallow Shot Put, Paper
Plate Discus, Checkerboard Penny Toss, Miniature-Miniature Golf,
M & M Marathon, Toddler Trot, and the Big Wheel
Obstacle Course (bring your own Big Wheel).
Each Olympian receives a ribbon for participation. The event will wrap up with the closing
ceremony – a red, white and blue parade for all participants.
The entry fee is $2 per child. Registration is required. Call Troy Parks and
Recreation at 248.524.3484 for more information or to sign up.
Boulan
Park, a 53-acre community park, is located off Crooks between Big Beaver and
Wattles roads.
