October is National Reading Group Month
Celebrate the Joy of Shared Reading

(TROY, MI) – In recognition of the importance of reading groups in so many lives, the Women’s National Book Association (wnba-books.org) has designated October as National Reading Group Month.   More than five million people belong to reading groups, and many of those groups are affiliated with public libraries.  An astonishing 110 libraries in southeast Michigan sponsor at least one reading group.  The Troy Public Library offers four groups for adult readers to enjoy sponsored by the Friends of the Troy Public Library.

“Our Library offers Adult Book Discussion groups year- round mornings, lunchtime and evenings sponsored by the Friends of the Troy Public Library,” Cathy Russ, Troy Library Director said.  “Whatever your interest related to books, we have a book group for you. Get together with friends and discuss the best sellers, your favorite mysteries or the classics.”

Drop-ins are welcome and no registration is required at the “Booked for Lunch” group which meets the first Wednesday each month from 12 – 1 pm.  Just bring your thoughts to share plus your beverage and lunch.  Books to be reviewed are:
