Check Out Great Kids Programs in October at the Troy Public Library
(TROY, MI) – The Troy Public Library has plenty of
fun activities for kids this July. Programs
are free, sponsored by The Friends
of Troy Public Library and may require registration.
Come explore these scheduled
activities:
Saturday, October 3, 2 pm -- Let’s Pretend! Calling
all Princesses and Super Heroes to a party! Be Magical! Be Powerful!
Be Special! Register. Ages 3+.
Thursday, October 8, 7 pm -- Book Report Writing: Learn
the proper steps to writing winning book reports. Register. Grades 4+.
Friday, October 9, 10:15 am -- Noon Playtime at the Library: Come
and chat with other parents while the children make a craft and play. No registration required. All ages.
Friday, October 9, 4:15-5:30 pm -- Technology Club: Share
educational fun on the Internet. Limited space. Register.
Ages 9+.
Saturday, October 10, 2 pm -- Video Game Day: Enjoy
video games and tournaments for GameCube, Wii, PS2
and Xbox 360. Pizza will be provided.
Register. Ages 8+.
Thursday, October 15, 7 pm -- Evening Family Story Time: October
is the month children like to dress up. We will read imaginative tales and then share
treats. No registration required. All ages welcome.
Saturday, October 17, 11 am, 1 pm or 3 pm -- Pumpkin Decorating: Use
your imagination to create a jack-o’-lantern with our pumpkin and craft
materials. Limited
supplies. Registration begins
October 2. Ages 3+.
Friday, October 23, 4:15-5:30 pm -- Technology Club: Share
educational fun on the Internet. Registration begins October 9. Ages 9+.
Saturday, October 24, 11:30 am -- Library Babies: You
and your 6-12 month old will have a blast with lively activities, fingerplays and singing stories. Registration begins October 9.
Saturday, October 24, 2 pm -- Art Workshop: Create a mask using half a paper plate
and various scraps provided. Registration begins October 9. Ages
3+.
Saturday, October 31, 3 pm -- It’s Magic!: Brace
yourself for an engaging, amazing and hilarious program. Award-winning Actor and Magician Tom Plunkard will warm your hearts and stretch your cheek
muscles with a spellbinding performance filled with magic, audience
participation and loads of humor.
Tickets will be available beginning October 16. All ages welcome.
