(TROY,
MI) –Travel back in
time for old-fashioned lessons and activities at the Troy Museum and Historic
Village. Authentic lessons and activities include:
Daily:
One-Room Schoolhouse Lessons (10-11 am), crafts (11am-12pm),
recess and pioneer games (1-3 pm), Architectural Geometrics (2-3 pm).
Special
activities include:
July 13: One-Room School Lessons, 10-11 am. Reading,
Writing, and Arithmetic! (Grades 1-8) and make a copy book and berry ink and
schoolhouse paper
craft, 11am-12pm.
July 14: One-Room School Lessons, 10-11 am.
Lessons for ESL kids—Grades 2-8, taught by Ms. Anne.
July 15: Make your own marbles and pouch and
quilting paper craft, (11am-12pm).
July 17: Make a copy book and berry ink and
schoolhouse paper craft, (11am-12pm).
Programs are included with admission. Effective June 29, the Troy Museum & Historic Village will charge daily admission of $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-17. Children under the age of six are free. Annual passes are also available for $15 per individual or $25 per family. Troy Historical Society members can inquire about special pass rates available to them. Individuals participating in a paid program will not be required to pay an admission fee.
