(TROY, MI)
– The Troy Daze Parade is set to be a highlight of Troy’s biggest community
event as participants prepare to step off from Troy High School at 10 am
on Saturday, September 13 and make their way south on Northfield
Parkway to Boulan Park.
“With
wonderful marching bands and community groups this parade is sure to add to the
excitement and buzz Troy Daze creates in the community,” Parade Chair Diana
McKay said. “What better way to kick off
Saturday’s festival events. Parade
lovers want to be sure to gather up their lawn chairs and find a spot along the
parade route for a wonderful event reminiscent of small-town parades from days
gone by. And it’s not too late to build
a float or organize your group to march.”
The marching bands from Athens and Troy
High School, current military service men and women and veterans, the new Miss
Troy and her Court, the Troy High Football team carrying 64 flags of the many nationalities
represented in Troy (the second most diverse city in Michigan), and beautifully
decorated floats.
Fun for all ages, the parade will also
include Ronald McDonald and his car, clowns, cheerleaders, Troy youth dancers
and singers, numerous Boy and Girl Scout groups, and the winners of the cutest
toddler competition. Parade watchers will enjoy more than a dozen historic
vehicles, Troy Fire Trucks, Police cars and motorcycles, and an antique fire
truck as they drive down the route.
Parade watchers may wish to follow the
route at the parade’s end to join the fair, including the outstanding Waffle
Breakfast prepared and served as a fundraiser by Troy High School’s Girls
Tennis Team.

year’s parade call Diana McKay at 248.515.4227.
