Celebrate Independence Day with the Troy Museum

 

 

(TROY, MI) – Celebrate Independence Day with historic celebrities and old-fashioned family fun. The Troy Museum offers fun, educational activities that young children will love!  Activities Include:

 

Monday, June 29: Life with Lincoln, Lincoln Trivia Bee, and build a mini log cabin.

 

Tuesday, June 30: Experiment with hands-on scientific inventions alongside Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, makes kites and print with Franklin, too.

 

Wednesday, July 1: Our Founding Mothers, Patriotic Trivia Hunt, design flags with Betsy Ross, sew with Abigail Adams, and Molly Pitcher’s water races.

 

Thursday, July 2:  An Old-Fashioned Fourth, Patriotic Trivia Hunt, sing-a-long, sack races, Poppleton Rhythm Band for kids, decoration contest, parade, and ice cream social.

 

July 2: Bring your bike, trike, stroller or wagon to the museum pre-decorated for the 4th of July Celebration. The Historical Society will award a $50 prize for the best decorated non-motorized vehicle.  Judging at 12:45 pm followed by a patriotic parade at 1 pm. Stay for free ice cream social. Call for schedule.
