Patriotic Week at the Troy Museum

 

 

(TROY, MI) – Celebrate Independence Day with historic celebrities and old-fashioned family fun. The Troy Museum offers fun, educational activities that young children will love!  Activities Include:

 

June 29: Life with Lincoln, 11-11:30 am. Lincoln Trivia Bee, and build a mini log cabin.

 

June 30: Learning with Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, 10 am-1:30 pm. Experiment with hands-on scientific inventions alongside Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, makes kites and print with Franklin, too.

 

July 1: Our Founding Mothers, 10 am-3 pm. Patriotic Trivia Hunt, design flags with Betsy Ross, sew with Abigail Adams, and Molly Pitcher’s water races.

 

July 2:  An Old-Fashioned Fourth, 10 am-3 pm. Patriotic Trivia Hunt, sing-a-long, sack races, Poppleton Rhythm Band for kids, decoration contest, parade, and ice cream social.

 

July 2: Patriotic Parade Contest, 12:45-2 pm. Bring your bike, trike, stroller or wagon to the museum pre-decorated for the 4th of July Celebration. The Historical Society will award a $50 prize for the best decorated non-motorized vehicle.  Judging at 12:45 pm followed by a patriotic parade at 1 pm. Stay for free ice cream social. Programs are included with admission. Effective June 29, the Troy Museum & Historic Village will charge daily admission of $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 6-17.  Children under the age of six are free.  Annual passes are also available for $15 per individual or $25 per family.  Troy Historical Society members can inquire about special pass rates available to them.  Individuals participating in a paid program will not be required to pay an admission fee.
