(TROY, MI) – Amateur
photographers of all ages are invited to submit their best photos for the Troy
Daze Photography Contest. You do not
have to be a Troy resident to enter. Entry forms are available at the City of
Troy website at www.troymi.gov/TroyDaze. There is no fee to enter the contest. Prizes
will be awarded to the winners.
The contest has
become a tradition of the Troy Daze Festival. This year’s festival is scheduled
for September 18-20, 2009. Photography
contest entries are due by Thursday, September 3 at 4 pm.
“This contest is a wonderful opportunity for photography enthusiasts of all ages,” said Photography Contest Chairman Bill Cowger of William Cowger’s Acacia Photography, “The summer season provides a wide array of opportunities for area amateur photographers to capture just the right shot that would be a perfect submission.”
Entries will be grouped and judged by two age brackets – adult (ages 18 and up) and youth (ages 17 and under). Photos may be black and white, color, or a combination of black and white and color. Entries may not be of photos taken for commercial use. Subject matter should be appropriate for display at a family oriented event. Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified.
Entries must be
matted and cannot exceed total dimensions of 16” x 20” (including matting). Absolutely no glass or frames. The size of the photograph
must be at least 8” x 10” while 11” x 14” photographs are preferred.

entries will be on display at Boulan Park in the Troy Daze Photography Contest
Tent during the Troy Daze Festival September 17-20. Winning photos will be on
