TROY, MI) – The Troy Parks and Recreation
department offers a variety of camps this summer, including one for budding
rock stars and one for those looking for an overall performing arts experience.
A “Rock
‘n Roll Camp” is a new offering this summer. Presented by Cyber Music Gear, this camp gives beginner to intermediate musicians ages 10-17 the chance to see what it’s like to be
in a real band. This camp is for
beginner to intermediate guitarists, bassists, drummers, singers and pianists
with at least three months of experience on their instrument. Campers split up into 3-5 person bands for
daily instrument instruction, jam sessions, music theory, the history of rock ’n
roll and stage presence. The camp is
July 12-16 from 10 am-1 pm. The fee is
$125 for residents and $130 for non-residents.
The Fame Performing Arts Camp returns this summer, offering a week-long
odyssey into the world of jazz dance, theatre, music and art. The camp is filled with learning and fun as
children master the foundations of performing arts discipline and combine them
into an exciting finished product – an onstage performance for family and
friends. The Fame camps are offered as follows:

different “Fame” camps offered:
July12-16, July 19-23, and Aug. 2-6, from 9 am - 2:30 pm. For grades 4-9, there is one Fame camp July
