MI) – The
Troy Public Library’s 9th Annual Shared Inheritances series, which kicked off in
May, continues and promises to be a fun and educational way to spend Sunday
afternoons. All programs will take place at the Troy Public Library, 510 West
Big Beaver Road in the Meeting Room.
Asian Indians in Troy, Part 2, May 31 at
2 pm.
Indian
Classical Bharatanatyam and Folk dance performed by
children from the Nupur Academy of Dance in Troy
under the direction of Radika Acharya.
Chinese
in Troy, Sunday, June 7 at 2 pm.
This
program will feature an Aria performance by opera singers, and a dance
interpreted by a Chinese children’s ensemble. The program will be presented in
partnership with Troy Public Library and the Sino-American Culture of Exchange
Center for Performing Arts.
Romanians
in Troy, Sunday, June 14 at 2 pm.
Enjoy
a concert of Eastern European classical music performed by Vasile
Beluska, Professor of Violin at Bowling Green
University. Afterward, there will be a multimedia presentation dedicated to the
Romanian national poet Mihail Eminescu.

Romanian Festival, Inc.
Polish
in Troy, Sunday June 28 at 2 pm.
Guest speaker Patty C. Rice, Ph.D., author of Amber:
Golden Gem of the Ages, will narrate a slide presentation on the history of amber,
referring to her own collection on display at the library during the month of
June. The presentation will be followed by a Polish classical piano concert
interpreted by pianist and composer Jaroslaw Golembiowski. This program is in collaboration with The
Friends of Polish Art.
