(TROY, MI) – Celebrate the holidays in Troy while finding unique gifts and
last-minute stocking stuffers for “hard-to-shop” for friends or family
members. A diverse selection of perfect
holiday gifts is available in the City’s gift shops around town:
The Friends
of the Troy Public Library Gift Shop & Used Bookstore - Staffed by volunteers, the proceeds from these shops
support Library activities. The Gift Shop
is located in the lobby directly across from the Circulation Desk. For hours of
operation, which change daily, call 248.524.3538. The
Used Bookstore, located in the basement, is open Friday and Saturday, 10 am-
1 pm and Sunday 1-4 pm. Stop in to find great
book, video, DVD and CD bargains.
Creative
Endeavors: Located in the Community Center (3179 Livernois), this store displays delightful handmade crafts and
practical household items made by Troy’s senior citizens. Hours are:
Monday-Saturday, 10 am-2 pm; plus extended hours for the holidays on Tuesday
and Thursday, 5-9 pm. Call 248.526.5145 for more information.
Cattail
Cove - Festive
holiday décor, paper products, bath items, clothing, games, artwork and more
can be found at the Stage Nature Center (6685 Coolidge Highway). Free gift-wrapping is available on purchases
over $25. Hours are: Tuesday-Saturday,
8:30 am-4:30 pm; and Sunday, noon-5 pm.
Museum Gift
Shop: Old-fashioned toys, Victorian cards, handmade
finger puppets, candy, puzzles, dress-up items such as bonnets and straw hats,
and the Troy Historical pictorial book, Troy: A
City from the Corners, will satisfy those who like to celebrate the
past. Located at 60 W. Wattles, Museum
hours are: Monday-Saturday, 9 am-4:30 pm.
City of
Troy: Celebrate your City with wonderful gifts such as t-shirts and insulated
tumblers with City logos, notecards highlighting City
scenes, the “Cops in the Kitchen” cookbook, City keychains
and ornaments, and more. These gifts are available in the Community Affairs
office, 500 W. Big Beaver, Monday-Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.
