Summer
Skateboarding Camp at the Community Center
(TROY,
MI) – The coolest
summer camp around is coming to the Troy Community Center June 29-July 3 and
August 10- 14 from 9 am-12 pm. Troy
Skateboarding Camp 2009 will teach kids how to do the great tricks they see on
ESPN’s X-Games, in a safe, well-structured environment. Boys and girls ages 7-14 may participate, and
both skateboards and roller blades are allowed each day. The fee is $136 ($141 non-resident).
“This is
the perfect opportunity for kids who are interested in skate boarding to learn
some new tricks and advance their boarding skills,” said Scott Mercer,
Recreation Supervisor.
Each
participant must provide full protective equipment, which includes a helmet
with chin-strap, wrist guards, kneepads and elbow pads. All campers receive a camp T-shirt on the
last day of camp and an ice-cold bottle of Gatorade daily. On Friday of each week, there will be an X-game style competition. Participants will be judged
competing in a variety of categories suited for their age.
The Troy Skate
Park is located in the north parking lot of the Community Center, located at
3179 Livernois. For more information,
