(TROY,
MI) – As the holiday
season approaches, be sure to spread joy to others through various donation
opportunities taking place right in the City of Troy. Whether you have some
food, clothes or toys, local organizations are pleased to share your donations with
those in need. Opportunities include:
Troy
Police/Veterans Food Drive - The
Troy Police Department will conduct their annual food drive with the assistance
of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Up until December 17, drop off items at the
Police Desk (500 W. Big Beaver, open 24 hours) or the Troy VFW (2375 E. Maple).
The Troy PD and VFW also oversee deliveries to the families. Holiday gifts for
specific families in need are also collected, as well as checks made payable to
“Troy VFW Post #4037.” For more information on how you can help, call Officer
Andy Breidenich at 248.524.3464.
Cob
Scouts Collect Toys – Cub Scout Pack 1706 from Martell Elementary will be
holding their third annual toy drive on Friday, December 5 from 7-9 pm at the

Troy Police Department to be delivered to those in need
here in Troy. Feel free to drop off a toy for scouts to wrap.
“Adopt
a Family” – The Troy People Concerned (TPC) assists Troy families who find
themselves in crisis situations. The organization receives more requests for
assistance during the holidays than any other time of the year. Citizens can
help TPC by donated a holiday food basket, adopting a family so that they have
gifts, or giving local grocery store gift certificates. For more information,
