(TROY, MI) – The Troy Parks and Recreation
department offers a variety of “day camps” this summer, providing a wide range
of great experiences for school-age children.
Camp themes include: KIDS Camp, Survivor Summer Camp Kids Style,
“All That and Then Some…” Middle School Summer Blast,
Sportsters Camp, Backyard Explorers, Water Warriors and new this year, The
Amazing Race Camp.
All are offered as five-day camps and
some are available as four-day camps at various weeks throughout the summer. Registration to participate is required. Fees range from $105 to $175, depending upon
the camp, and run from 9 am-4 pm, Monday-Friday. The camps are licensed by the State of
Michigan and have the option of before and/or after care for additional fees.
Drop-off for the camps is at the Troy
Community Center, except for the KIDS and Backyard Explorers Camps which
originate at the Troy Farm located at Beach Road and South Blvd.

KIDS Camp for ages 6-11 at the Troy
Farm (Beach Road and South Blvd:)

22-25, July 12-16 or August 2-6
Fees: (4-day camp:
$105 for residents and $110 for non-residents; 5-day camp: $130 for residents and $135 for
non-residents)
Come
to the Troy Farm for a great, well-rounded traditional camp experience. Activities will include outdoor group games,
songs, crafts and one field trip.
Survivor Summer Camp Kids Style for
ages 7-12 at the Troy Community Center
June
28-July 2, July 6-9, July 26-30, August 9-13, and August 16-20
Fees: (4-day camp:
$115 for residents and $120 for non-residents; 5-day camp: $142 for residents and $147 for
non-residents)
This
popular camp is modeled after the television reality show with one missing
element – no one gets voted off. Campers
are divided into five tribes and work together toward earning the “Top Tribe”
award in an action-packed week with sports, contests, arts and crafts, mind
games and trips to the Aquatic Center.
Registration fee includes two trips to the Aquatic Center, climbing
wall, camp t-shirt and supplies to survive.
“All That and Then Some…” Middle School
Summer Blast for ages 10-13 at the Troy Community Center
June
28- July 2, July 26-30, and August 9-13
Fees:
$142 for residents and $147 for non-residents
Designed specifically for middle school students with
swimming, bowling, active group games, rockwall,
outdoor sports, art projects and more.
Sportsters Camp for ages 6-11 at the Troy
Community Center
June
22-25, July 6-9, August 2-6 and August 16-20
Fees: (4-day camp:

A
variety of sports are played daily developing sports confidence while improving
skills in a team environment. Includes swimming daily at the Aquatic Center.
Backyard Explorers for ages 5-9 at the
Troy Farm
June
28-July 2, July 26-30, August 9-13
Fees: $125 for residents and $130 for non-residents
Perfect for the first-time camper. Includes two trips to the
Nature Center and hands-on activities, group games, crafts and new outdoor adventures
each day.
Water Warriors Camp for ages 7-12 at
the Troy Community Center and Aquatic Center
July
12-16, July 19-23 or August 9-13
Fees:
$142 for residents and $147 for non-residents
Includes water-themed activities and contests, speakers on
water rescue and safety, a pizza party, a field trip to an area Water Park, and
lots of non-structured swimming time each day.
The Amazing Race Camp for ages 6-11 at
the Troy Community Center
August
2-6
Fees: $170 for residents and $175 for non-residents.
Young
campers will have the chance to “race around Troy” and each day will be a new
destination with an exciting adventure waiting for them. Sports, group games and team building round
out the activities for this energizing camp.
Includes three field trips, swimming, and camp t-shirt.
