(TROY,
MI) – In cooperation with
the Boys & Girls Club of Troy, Troy Community Coalition and the City of
Troy Parks & Recreation Department, Troy Youth Assistance (TYA) strives to
provide camp and skill building opportunities for Troy children ages 7-17. However, recent City budget cuts have reduced
the TYA camp/skill building budget by 50 percent. To offset this loss the organization is
offering an opportunity to “adopt a camper.”
Throughout
the year, TYA seeks to provide skill building opportunities such as team
participation for kids (Troy baseball boosters), enrichment classes and “camp”
experiences. The outreach is not limited
to kids who are on the TYA caseload.
Typically, the
costs run from $50 to $300 per child.
Through donations, children would be able to participate in the Troy
Boys & Girls Club, Troy Parks and Recreation, Oakland County and Troy
Community Coalition day camps and summer programs, plus year-round
skill-building opportunities.
Members of
the community interested in enabling TYA to continue this effort can make
donations to:
