(Troy, MI) – Due date for payment of 2009 winter
property taxes without penalty is Sunday, February 14, 2010. However, since this date falls
on the weekend, payments will be accepted through Monday, February 15 without
penalty. Deferred summer tax bills also
are due at this time. On February 16, a 3%
penalty must be applied to all unpaid winter tax bill balances.
If
you are responsible for paying property taxes but have not received your bill,
contact the Treasurer’s Office at 248.524.3333, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. You can always check the
status of your tax bill on the City of Troy’s website www.troymi.gov. If you recently refinanced or paid off your
mortgage and are unsure of whom is responsible for the payment, contact your
mortgage company.
Please allow 7 - 10 business days when
mailing payments. Be aware that payments
made online through your banking institution are not
electronically submitted to us but require that institution to create a paper check
and mail it. Payments by check also may be made anytime
using the secure dropboxes located outside the east
and west entrances to City Hall.
Any
2009 tax payments not received in the Treasurer’s Office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday,
March 1, 2010 must be paid with additional penalties to the Oakland County
Treasurer, 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac, MI
48341.
