(TROY, MI)
–The Troy Community Center is offering a “Troy Bicycler Group” the third Saturday
of each month at 9:30 am. Riders will explore three different trails in the
tri-county area:
June 20- Clinton River Trail
Meet in the parking area on the east
side of Opdyke Rd. north of South Blvd. Ride to Dequindre just south of 24 Mile Rd. and return to start. Total 18.5 miles.
July 18- Paint Creek Trail
Meet at the parking area on Mill St.
east of Rochester Rd. in downtown Rochester, just south of the Older Persons’
Commission (OPC) Senior Center and Letica Rd. Ride from to Lake Orion and back with a rest
stop in Lake Orion. Total 20 miles.
August 15- Metro Parkway Trail
Meet at the church on the southeast
corner of Metro Parkway and Schoenherr (enter off Schoenherr). Ride to
Metropolitan Beach with a rest stop at the park before return. Total 23 miles.
Riders must provide own transportation
of bike to start point and should wear helmets and bring water and snacks. There
is an optional lunch at a restaurant near the start of the trail after the ride.
If a minimum of 12 people register by
the Wednesday before the trip, a Community Center employee will attend and will
have a cell phone available for emergencies.
Registration forms are available at the
Troy Community Center and participation cost is $4 per person. The Troy
