Host Summer Speed Program for Local Young Athletes: Training System Considered
One of the Best in the World
(TROY,
MI) – Young athletes
in the Troy area will receive a very special treat this summer - access to a
Speed & Agility Camp that brings one of the most successful programs in the
world to the local community.
The
Speed Camp is being hosted by the Troy Community Center Youth Athletic Development
Program and is offered: June 27 – July 1 from 9-10:30 am for ages 10-14 and
July 11-15 from 9-10:30am for ages 15 and over.
Cost for either camp is $51 per person.
"Training
for speed & agility is not what most young athletes, coaches and parents
think it is," Phil Loomis, Head Coach of the Youth Athletic Development
Program said.
"We
aren’t going to just run our athletes into the ground or have them change
direction through a maze of cones. We’re going to teach them how to be
faster and how to be more agile. This Speed Camp will elevate every
participant’s game – it doesn’t matter what sport they play."
The
speed and agility camp will improve speed and agility in all sports based on
cutting edge techniques of sports science. Participants improve body mechanics,
acceleration, speed, flexibility, change of direction,
and jumping performance. Core strength and conditioning will be included. Equipment
required - Cleats or running shoes.
Location: Athens High School Football Field.
